Penelope Housden

Are you constantly griping? Looking at the bad side of things ultimately makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy: everything goes rotten!
Rememer, you are what you think you are.
Instead of complaining about what you lack, cultivate and appreciate what you do have. Nurturing your attitude so you become a positive person, and appreciating who you are based on your capabilities, will create a positive outcome. Your trip to success depends on the decisions you make. Your task is to envision the situation from a ’selfless’ perspective rather than a selfish one. Take responsibility for your actions. If you feel your actions produce negative results, and the outcome is unacceptable, then shift your actions.
As you allow yourself the liberty to change, you also allow yourself the freedom to rise and discover new roads to success. Remember a time or a situation when you faced a moderate degree of challenge. You may have noticed a distinct change in your feelings. As the time drew closer to achieving whatever it was you set out to accomplish, you felt more alive and more aware of your surroundings. Your aliveness and vitality produce pleasurable feelings and is self-encouraging. Your paradigms and emotions reach new peaks and plateaus as you plot your direction with conviction.
When one door, or opportunity, closes another one bangs wide open. It’s really good cliche! The opportunity for challenge helps you to grow, change, and take charge of yourself. Working towards a new and exciting goal, or eliminating a non-empowering emotion or habit, empowers you to control your present situation and your life. As your ability to develop a new perspective grows, you put yourself in the driver’s seat to greater self-actualization.
Admit it, there are folks in this world that enjoy pissing you off. Maybe it’s because they lack direction in life, and attempt to communicate their frustration to you by pushing your anger buttons. They may feel that they have no other way to relieve their pain but to cause you pain. If they resist communicating with you in a positive way, let go of the situation. Give yourself a time frame to decide how long you’ll put up with their manipulative behavior. There’s no reason to let unwarranted conflict or pain affect your life. Speaking up for yourself is your choice and decision.
Fury and frustration with others will slow you down and block your progress toward success. Making a move to slow down, speed up, or get out of their way by changing your direction, is a positive step forward. Whether your challenge or adversity be facing the situation (or person) or letting go of it, taking action is your opportunity for change and success. Your ability to master your emotions depends on the positive decisions you make. Creating a life of personal fulfillment is based on your inner strength, determination and communication. You won’t know where you’re going until you start heading in that direction. Direct yourself to the path that provides maximum enjoyment and positive interactions with everyone!

The Secret Of Success - Desire, Duty, Or Dereliction?
Author: admin
People go through this thing that we call life and while some are incredibly successful, there are others who just “get by” until the final curtain is drawn.
Determining your level of actual involvement in your life &ndash and thus, your level of success &ndash can be broken down into 3 categories: Desire, Duty, or Dereliction.
Desire
Following the path of desire is simply doing what you choose to do with your life. From a standpoint of health, wealth, and happiness, the person who follows their desires is fueled by one thing, and one thing only &ndash their own desires.
Duty
A life filled with a dedication to duty is one where even though you keep your own desires in mind, your primary focus always seems to be on the welfare of others. Whether you are talking about a dedication to your children or your family, or if you have a very high work ethic, the person motivated by duty always has plenty of things to focus on.
Dereliction
Dereliction is a pretty strong term, but it needs to be because this type of person doesn’t care about much of anything. They aren’t necessarily “evil” as most people would consider the meaning of that term, but this person isn’t concerned about very much. Whether considering what happens with their own life, or considering the needs of others or the world at large, this person is pretty much just floating through life without any real sense of duty or desire.
So now the question becomes which one of those personality types is most likely to succeed? Each of those people will achieve massive success on their chosen path because they are doing exactly what they feel they are supposed to be doing, and so they will continue to attract that type of lifestyle.
The person who is completely driven by their own desires and refuses to do anything that doesn’t match that direction will rarely be found engaging in any activity that is not centered around whatever it is that they want to be doing at that moment.
The duty-bound individual will continually find new ways to be duty-bound. When one commitment is handled, they will attract or create a new commitment for themselves, often without even realizing that they are doing it.
For the person who is practicing the opposite of duty &ndash dereliction &ndash their entire focus is on not focusing on much of anything. By not having any real direction for their life, and by not really caring one way or the other about what happens with other people, this person will continue to manifest that lifestyle. Their circumstances will require them to have as little input or responsibility as possible. For a more clear definition of this individual, think one word: Teenagers.
So who is right? Which one of these people is going to have the most happiness in their life?
If you define happiness as being “successful,” then each of them will be just as happy. They will each attract into their lives the people and the circumstances that will allow them to continue to successfully be exactly the type of person that they are choosing to be.
The key to determining which one of them will be the most successful does not rely on “standard” markers such as financial success, career satisfaction, personal life, etc., because those methods of measuring success only matter to the person who cares about those types of measurements.
The “starving artist” doesn’t care about financial success, at least not initially. Your average painter, illustrator, sculptor, or musician would probably do what they do for free, as long as they still had a roof over their head and enough resources to survive.
A family-focused mother or father will gladly give of their time and their financial resources, usually to the point of putting their own health, retirement, and even their sanity on the line. Yet they continue to honor what they believe to be their commitment to their children, regardless of the consequences.
The person who doesn’t much care one way or the other will happily float through life without a real financial plan, without any solid family or friendship commitments, and without even knowing what their own life is going to hold in store for them. However, they are choosing that life for themselves, so does that make them wrong?
The answer to all of these questions is that none of these people are “right” and none of them are “wrong”. They are only seen in a positive or a negative light by the person who is observing them, and they are being judged by the observing person’s belief system.
The fact of the matter is that the concepts of “right” or “wrong” don’t really exist. All that exist are the belief systems of individuals, and it is neither appropriate nor even in our power to judge others based on what we believe to be true.
The “secret of success” is that each of these individuals is 100% successful because they are doing exactly what they choose to be doing with their lives. In fact, failure itself does not even exist, as it is just another example of one person’s beliefs about what is good or what is bad.
Desire, duty, and dereliction will all bring success to the individuals who live their lives from that point of view. Not because that point of view is right or wrong, but simply because that is what that person wants to do. What greater success is there than that?

Simple Life Improvement Ideas
Author: admin
“We create our lives a thought at a time. And sometimes, it comes down to changing a thought such as “Why did this happen to me?” into “There is a divine plan and there is a reason for this, and my choice is to create the most positive reaction I can.” - Dee Wallace Stone
You know that positive thinking and positive action attracts positive things. But you also know that it is not possible to stay motivated and positive all the time.
You constantly need to check your thoughts as busy activities make you forget your dreams and goals at times. In other words, live a motivated life and you will feel that your life has improved.
Here are some ideas to increase your motivation and thereby improve your life:
1. Get Close To Positive Energy
Stay away from all forms of negativity. Avoid the cynics, pessimists, whiners and complain kings and queens. They will not support your goals and desires. They will drain your energy and stifle your dreams.
Associate yourself with positive and happy people. Their enthusiasm for life is contagious. Positive and optimistic people will uplift your spirits and help you through challenging times. Also draw inspiration from Mentors and Motivation Gurus.
2. Never Give Up
Don’t ever give up. We will not fail if we keep trying. Work hard at what you want to achieve and never let negative thoughts cloud your mind. Have faith in yourself. During difficult times, you will find ways to keep your spirits up and keep moving forward. Remember, if you think positively, you will get positive results. And if you think negatively, you will get negative results.
3. Reflect On Success
There are going to be some days that will take every will power to feel motivated and move forward. What can you do? Reflect on what is happening in your life and what you can learn from it. Look back on how far you’ve come. Think of past accomplishments that make you feel good and proud of. List down all your achievements, both personal and professional, and know your worth. Don’t forget the little achievements too. These are proofs that you have made good use of your time and energy.
4. Don’t Wait, Do It Now
While it’s important to work within your plan, don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you make that move. Don’t be in limbo, waiting for perfection that will never be. If you’re waiting for a shining moment of excitement, it isn’t going to happen. Stop waiting for it.
Work within your plan and take that first step. Frustration sets in when you make all the plans you want, make lists, detail every step, but take no action. You have to MAKE it happen. Take action and repeat the action process again tomorrow.
5. Take Time To Relax Too
It is critical to take time off. We need rest and relaxation every now and then. Rest, by itself, is a great motivator. We are so busy that we can forget to relax and recharge. Even a weekend away from work, studying or watching kids can be good. You need to recharge those “batteries”, refresh your attitude, and renew your commitment to yourself. Without sufficient rest and relaxation, you will burn out fast. Taking time off from work is essential to your mental, physical, and emotional health.
To live the life you want to live, action is required. Take these simple ideas to create and improve the life you have always wanted. Start Today.

Most people are familiar with the phrase “thoughts become things,” and in a manner of speaking that is true. However, the more accurate way to explain that concept would be to say that thoughts become emotions.
Emotions in turn drive the machine of your life that creates the things that you think about. The fact that emotions need to be part of the equation is easily verified by thinking back to any time in your life whenever you thought long and hard about having or doing something, but those thoughts never manifested into whatever it was that you were thinking about. For example:
• Many people think very often about having enough money to enjoy certain material possessions or experiences.
• Almost all people give considerable thought to weight loss, physical fitness, or their overall health.
• The majority of people also spend plenty of time thinking about satisfying romantic or other social relationships.
However, despite the massive amount of thought that is dedicated to some or all of those things, it is often the case that we do not have the level of success in those areas that we desire.
The reason for that is because we do not have the appropriate emotional attachment to the things that we want to bring into our lives. When giving thought to the things that we want, more is not necessarily better, since emotionless thoughts have no real power, no matter how many times we think them.
However, a consistent thought about something that also evokes a positive emotional response from you almost always serves to ultimately bring that thing into your life.
In order to illustrate this concept, simply think back to any job interview, health improvement program, date, or other social situation that you were involved in that you felt very positive and confident about. In most if not all of those situations, one of two things happened:
1) You attained or enjoyed the experience of whatever it was you felt positive about, or
2) You realized after the fact that you didn’t really want it after all.
By feeling positive and confident about attaining something, you put yourself in charge of the outcome, as opposed to how a lack of confidence will tend to make you feel powerless to get what you want out of any given situation.
You need to be honest with yourself, however, when considering whether or not you truly feel positive and confident about attaining something. Strongly desiring something does not equate to feeling positive or confident about acquiring it. Everyone wants whatever they consider to be financial, health, or social success, but actually believing that we will attain it is another matter entirely.
It is this difference between giving a high quantity of thought to something vs. giving a high quality of thought to something that is ultimately the deciding factor in whether or not we attain it.
High quality thoughts about something are thoughts that evoke a consistent positive emotional response in relation to that thing. These thoughts fill you with the belief that &ndash sooner or later &ndash you will attain whatever it is that you are thinking about.
Compare that to the thoughts that most people have about attaining their desires. You will see that often people’s thoughts about their dreams tend to evoke negative, disempowering emotional responses, such as doubt, fear, uncertainty, concern, lack of confidence, etc.
Rarely in history has anything of note been accomplished by someone thinking of how scared they were about whether or not it was actually going to happen. Disempowering thoughts such as fear do not tend to manifest positive results.
That is not to say that fear or similar feelings are not part of the process, because often they are. However, they are used only as tools to bolster the confidence and belief level of the person involved, as squashing disempowering feelings has the immediate effect of causing us to feel empowered! If you have ever faced down a fear, then you know this to be true.
The bottom line solution to using the power of your emotions as the fuel for self improvement is to make a conscious recognition of how you feel about something that you want to accomplish.
If the thought of improving your finances, your health, your social life, or any other area of your life causes you to feel anything other than positive and confident, you must embrace the fact that you have mental roadblocks that need to be cleared before you will achieve success in that area.
Those roadblocks can then be cleared by engaging in whatever activity will eliminate those negative feelings. That may include getting educated about what it will take to accomplish your goal, it may mean practicing affirmations or visualizations, it might involve doing research on the topic, hiring a professional to help you, or even something as simple as voicing the disempowering belief to yourself.
Once the dark things in our subconscious are brought into the light, they are often seen to have very little actual power over us, if any at all. Ferret out your negative, disempowering beliefs by being 100% truthful with yourself about how you feel about something that you want to attain.
Once you have recognized whatever it is that is causing your negative feelings, drag it kicking and screaming into the light, eliminate it, and you will leave yourself with nothing but positive and confident feelings about your ability to succeed. Then you will do exactly that!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said &ndash We become what we think about all day long. This couldn’t be any truer. What do you think about all day long? Who’s going to win on football on Sunday? Do you think about what you’re going wear to Sally’s party or who Nicole Richie is dating? If you think about trivial things all day long &ndash Don’t be surprised if your life turns out trivial.
You can’t think about ridiculous, trivial things all day and then once in a while when you’re in the mood say, “Oh yeah… and I really want to be successful.” According to Emerson &ndash just start thinking about success all the time and it will soon come. Emerson fully understood the law of attraction. The law of attraction is the secret to all great successes. It says that you attract what you think about and focus on.
You can start harnessing the power of the law of attraction today. I don’t care if you have the flu, you have two broken arms and 2 broken legs &ndash there’s something you can do today that will make you successful before you know it. Start spending a lot of your day just thinking about success. Read and listen to every motivational program you can find. Start using visualization and filling your mind up with thoughts of success instead of worrying about what Jay-Lo and Britney are wearing. C’mon &ndash if your mind is filled up with garbage most of the time, you’re going to become garbage! It’s as simple as that. Think about what you want long and hard enough and it will come - Action will follow. In the same way though &ndash think about what you don’t want and it will come. If you sit around all day and think — I don’t want to end up poor, fat and sick, inevitably you’ll end up poor, fat and sick. The mind knows what you fill it up with. Even if your intention is to avoid something &ndash if you think about it enough &ndash it’s likely to end up in your life. So don’t think about negative things. Don’t think about what you don’t want or what you want to avoid.
Think positively and only about what you want. Your thoughts become your reality. If you want an amzing life, you must think amazing thoughts. This is not some mystical nonsense. Quanum Physics has proven this to be an absolute fact. Our thoughts radically effect our reality. Try it out for a week. Can you do it for that long? For one week, I want you to be very careful about what you think about. Think big, think positive and know that you will get what you think about. Don’t let anyone distract you from this for this one week. Avoid negative people for this one week. Only think positive thoughts and dwell on what you want in your life and watch your life start to transform before your eyes.

You have the choice to control negativity and self-sabotaging behavior by creating positive beliefs and envisioning positive outcomes. Through a practice called “thought stopping,” you can change direction when you find yourself slipping into a negative thought pattern. Say to yourself, with a loud and firm inner voice: STOP! Once you’ve done this, it’s important to replace your previous thought with a more positive statement and image. Clearly acknowledge which statements cause you to feel pain or threat, and which statements allow you to feel success, joy and happiness.
When people unnecessarily stress themselves by thinking that they have no control over a controllable situation, they need to use their inner voice to shout out the word “STOP.” Then, change track and think about how the situation can be redirected.
Now, take this opportunity to practice “thought stopping.” What reoccurring thought causes you to feel negative, or some form of discomfort, pain, or threat? (Example: Taking risks makes me feel anxious.) Now write it down!
Next, with a loud and firm inner voice, shout out “STOP!” Again, “STOP!” Replace your negative feeling or thought with a positive statement. (Example: When I take risks I experience excitement, learn more about myself, and feel encouraged to risk again.)
When you attach specific positive words to positive feelings and experiences, you can recall positive feelings at will by using those words. Now apply the positive affirmation for yourself. Using your positive statement, attach it to feelings of success, joy, and happiness. For example, “When I challenge and encourage myself, I consistently move toward my goals with a success attitude, ‘I Can I Will.’ ”
Recite the statement to yourself several times. Each time, experience the positive feelings the statement generates. When you anchor positive words or statements to positive feelings, you can recall the positive feeling anytime you desire and create more positive outcomes, consistently.
Challenge yourself. Stop your self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors. Practicing thought stopping on a continual basis allows you to eliminate negative thoughts to become more aware of your feelings of accomplishment, self-acceptance, and of positive choice and change. Your new, bright thoughts and feelings of pleasure, joy and happiness drive you toward your destination of success. Positive feelings and beliefs increase your self-worth and self-esteem, empowering you to take action.

Writing Your Own Powerful Affirmations
Author: admin
A common question I see from people just beginning their personal development journey is, “How do I write effective affirmations?” Often they will go in search of existing affirmations that they can apply to their own situation, but they may or may not find something that works for them.
In my experience, it is much simpler to come up with our own personal affirmations because they’ll get right to the heart of the matter like nothing else can!
First, let’s explore the reasons for using affirmations so we can be clear about our objectives in writing them. An affirmation is most often used to help us think and feel more positive, empowered, and in control of a particular situation. On a deeper level, an affirmation is meant to ALTER OUR EXISTING BELIEFS.
Remember that our current circumstances are a direct result of our past thinking. In order to change our future experiences, we need to change our current thinking. You might find it helpful to first get clear about exactly what your current beliefs are. Think about the various aspects of your life, like your career, financial status, relationships, health, and so on. As you think about these situations, ask yourself what beliefs they reveal. If you have a lot of financial struggles, your existing belief might be, “I don’t have enough money,” or “I can’t stop accumulating debt.” Because you believe these things, your outer circumstances have come together in such a way that supports your beliefs.
Affirmations can help us change our beliefs, if they are worded correctly.
The first thing to understand is the importance of wording affirmations in present tense. Notice the difference in feelings you get from saying, “I will eat healthful, nutritious foods and exercise each day”, or “I enjoy eating healthful, nutritious foods and exercising each day.” The second statement makes the affirmation part of your experience NOW, while the first keeps the reality off in some uncertain future period of time.
Okay, so wording affirmations in the present tense is important, but how can we tell which words will give us the result we desire? The clues lie in our existing circumstances and beliefs.
If you are unhappy with the size or state of your body, you have been holding a belief that you are unhealthy, weak, unworthy, or lacking in beauty. In order to change your negative belief about your body, you must embrace a more positive belief. “I am healthy, strong, lean, and sexy” would be a good affirmation to begin changing this perception, but remember that it will first seem like you’re lying to yourself. Even though you are saying the words, you are not feeling the truth of such a statement.
Consistent repetition over time will begin to change that, but it’s important to keep up with the practice. There are two times when you should recite your affirmations:
1) Whenever you notice a conflicting belief. If you go shopping for clothes and you see an unpleasant image in the dressing room mirror and your mind begins its litany of negativity, “I’m so fat, oh my god, I can’t believe they let a beast like me walk around in public, I’m never going to be beautiful, I should just wear a tent for god’s sake!” — stop yourself, close your eyes and call up an image of yourself looking radiant, healthy, beautiful, and fit. Recite your affirmation (”I am healthy, strong, lean, and sexy”) with full faith that it is becoming your reality, moment by moment.
2) All the time. (Or as often as possible.) Don’t just wait for negative beliefs to pop up so you can recite your affirmations, say them as often as you can remember! Write them down and stick them on your bathroom mirror, the dashboard of your car, the headboard on your bed, in your wallet, or any place where you are likely to see them frequently. The more repetition you can engage in, the more quickly you will begin to replace your old, limiting beliefs with empowering new ones.
Finally, the MOST important part of affirmations is the intensity of belief you hold while you are reciting them. If you just say the words mechanically and dispassionately, guess what happens? You won’t be changing your existing beliefs because the whole time you’re reciting affirmations (no matter how great they are!), you will also have an inner voice saying, “Give me a break, who do you think you’re kidding?”
However, if you instead CHOOSE to believe your new affirmations with full faith and conviction, you will challenge the validity of your existing beliefs. Two opposing beliefs cannot co-exist in your mind at the same time. It HAS to be one or the other. This is a good thing because it means that the more you shift your confidence in your new beliefs, your old beliefs will fade away and eventually cease to exist. When that happens, your physical circumstances will shift and change in order to support your new beliefs.

Positive Thinking - What Can It Do For You?
Author: admin
Positive thinking is an amazing tool, but without action it’s a waste of time. Rather than just having a momentary thought it’s more of a way of life. It’s a technique that you use to create positive affirmations that can counter negative thoughts and doubts by neutralizing them and building the self-confidence you need for whatever you want to achieve.
Thinking this way is a skill you can learn and develop with consistent practice, but it is worth it to create a habit of positive thinking?
In some circles positive thinking is sometimes cynically referred to as pollyannaish, a naive and overly optimistic view of life by overlooking the things we don’t like and focusing only on the good.
So how about you?
How do you view things, negatively or positively? It can be easy for all of us to focus only on the negative but it’s usually as easy to look for a positive angle to things as it is for a negative angle.
By looking on the positive side we can affect our subconscious mind as we invoke the law of attraction and we can then attract a better set of circumstances into our life. Remember concentrate on the positive and expect a positive result but did you know that it takes as much effort to think about the negative as it is for the positive.
In some ways positive thinking is infectious and can lead to a ‘can do’ attitude within an individual, a team and an organization. It’s been said that the only difference between a success and a failure is the attitude of mind the person had before they entered that task.
One cannot pay lip service to positive thinking. You need to practice and make positive thinking your prevailing attitude towards life. The very feel of positive thinking itself will help you to feel confident and move towards your goal.
In order to acquire the great status of positive thinker, we must realize what positive thinking is all about and what it is not. Our usual misconceptions about positive thinking are that money will drop out of the sky; GOD will come on a chariot to take away the sufferings and pains and lot more imaginations, while this would be great unfortunately it won’t happen but by staying positive you remain open to new directions and guidance rather than just shutting down and giving up.
Attitude forms an important part of positive thinking whereas thinking contributes lot to the attitude. It’s kind of like the chicken and egg, which came first? If you have a bad attitude you’ll never consider changing how you think but can positive thinking change your attitude.
How you answer this age-old question about positive thinking and attitude may reflect your outlook on life, your attitude toward yourself, and whether you’re optimistic or pessimistic.
A positive attitude and optimistic thinking are healthy. When you wholeheartedly adopt a ‘with all your heart’ attitude and go all out with the positive principle, you can do incredible things. Happy, optimistic people are usually described as having positive attitudes and expressing positive thoughts.
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success.
After Christopher Reeve’s accident in 1995, I was so deeply touched by his attitude. Of course he could have given up and cursed life for giving him a raw deal but he didn’t. But consider this if hadn’t have been so brave and positive do you really think he would have survived for so long as he did? And deep down we all admire him for having such a positive attitude and inspiring us all.
As I finish this article, no matter what happens to us, we can choose positive thoughts and choose a positive attitude. It may not be something that we were all born with but it’s a way of looking at the brighter side of life that helps us build the life we want.
You could sum it up in one word, and that one would be “Faith”.

What
Author: admin
Self improvement in and of itself is a fairly easy to understand concept. You have one or more areas of your life that you are not happy with, so you decide to take steps to improve those areas.
For some people it is as simple as something like just taking more time for themselves each day, but for most people it is something more extreme such as long-term weight loss, financial freedom, relationship success, etc.
However, as simple as it is to say that you want to improve some area of your life, when it comes to actually implementing the necessary changes, things tend to get more complicated, especially with regard to something like financial or relationship success.
A goal such as losing weight is easy &ndash at least on paper. Eat right and exercise. How do you “fix” financial burdens, though? How do you bring your “dream mate” into your life?
The answer to the riddle about the self improvement task that is so simple that it’s nearly impossible is &ndash whatever task it is that you want the most!
If you have a burning desire for something in your life, whether it be money, health, fulfilling relationships, or anything else, that burning desire is there because you don’t already have that thing.
Did you ever stop to ask yourself why it is that the things that you want most in the world are the things that you have the most trouble actually getting your hands on?
Whether it be via the actions that you take &ndash or the actions that you don’t take &ndash there is a serious disconnect between your desires and what you actually have in your life.
The good news, which is also the simple part of this equation, is that YOU are the disconnect. You are your own worst enemy when it comes to manifesting the things that you want into your life.
It may not seem that way from your point of view, because you are probably working very hard towards getting the things that you want. You may have a job that you are excelling at in order to “move up,” you might put everything that you have into your relationships, and you may save every dime that you can in order to get ahead financially.
However, when it comes down to it, although taking action is a critical component to success, it is your mental state of mind, not just your actions, that sets the stage for your success.
There are any number of belief systems that can affect whether or not you attain your goals. Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction, positive thinking, a high work ethic, strong morals, or even if you just have a high level of self-confidence, your success always &ndash and only &ndash depends on you.
Thus, you yourself become the very solution to attaining the “impossible” success that has been escaping you up to this point in your life.
Your own attitude and belief system is what powers your success &ndash or lack thereof. The trick to the whole process, however, is that most people think they are on the right track mentally, when in all actuality they are headed in the wrong direction because of their focus.
People who have consistently wanted &ndash yet failed to attain &ndash their health and weight loss goals continue to get the same results because they are focusing on something negative &ndash bad health or excess weight.
What you focus on grows, so if you think about the fact that you are overweight or have poor health, then you will continue to be overweight and have poor health. To make matters worse, since a lot of that process is done “behind the scenes” in your subconscious mind, you probably don’t even realize that you continue to reinforce the very self-limiting beliefs that are keeping you from success.
That same concept applies to financial gains, relationship success, career growth, and any other area of your life that you feel needs improvement. By continuing to focus on what you don’t want, all you are doing is continuing to attract the things that you don’t want into your life.
The solution to this issue is very simple, however. All you need to do is focus on the opposite of what you don’t want. Whenever you think about the things that you want, just think about having them, instead of NOT having them.
Don’t think about losing weight, but rather think about how great you already look since you are at your goal weight. Always think in the NOW, as if it has already happened.
Don’t think about how broke you are, but rather think about all of the things that you are spending money on. Go window shopping in your mind, and out in the real world, but again, in the NOW.
Don’t think about how lonely or upset you are because of your relationship status. Think about how happy and content you are with your family and your dream mate. And it is all happening NOW.
It’s crucial to remember to focus on the things that you want as if you already have them. If you think about your success as being in the future, then it will always stay in the future!
Simplify the impossible. Start thinking and acting like you have already succeeded, and before long, it won’t be an act anymore.
