Timing In Goal-Setting
Author: admin
When most of us set goals, we hold an expectation that everything will work out as planned. We have this picture in our minds of a smooth process from start to finish, easily achieving our goals without a hitch. This is especially true when it comes to the timing of our desired results!
Let’s face it; we wouldn’t be setting goals in the first place if we didn’t believe they were possible to achieve. Even if we expect a fair amount of difficulty in reaching our goals, we usually don’t expect to encounter major delays and setbacks.
Early in the game an optimistic mind-set can be a strong benefit because it gives us high confidence and strength to push through any preliminary obstacles that appear before us.
However, as more and more time passes and our desired results aren’t showing up - or worse, we continue to experience problem after problem, our determination begins to wane. We wonder what we’ve gotten ourselves into. We wonder if we were crazy to think we could accomplish something so difficult!
Most importantly, we forget that there is one little aspect to any goal that is often beyond our control: timing.
As much as we might like our results to show up quickly and easily, that is not always how it happens. When we find ourselves stuck, we have three choices: We can strengthen our focus and put forth a stronger quality of energy toward our desired outcome; we can build up our resolve to work through obstacles more persistently, or we can wait patiently for the timing to be exactly right.
That last one is the stickler! We don’t like to feel out of control, especially where our own lives are concerned. We don’t like feeling that there is some mysterious “force out there” controlling what happens to us.
There is no easy answer for why results don’t appear when we expect them to. Each situation is different, as is each goal and the person setting it.
When this happens to you, the important question to ask is not WHY it happens but what you will do when it does.
Will you shove through obstacles with vicious determination? Will you find an easier path to your goal? Or will you wait patiently for obstacles to dissolve in their own time?
There are no right or wrong answers to these questions; only what you choose for yourself.
Like most people, you may find that certain outcomes cannot be rushed. No matter how hard you push, you will not be able to move forward until the timing is right.
In situations like these, hindsight usually reveals clear reasons why you could not move ahead until the timing was exactly right.
Perhaps you needed to wait for the assistance of someone who could provide the right opportunity to move ahead. Maybe you weren’t emotionally ready to handle the responsibilities of your desired outcome and once you did some more work on your personal development, all obstacles simply melted away.
There are endless possibilities for why the timing may not be right, but what can you do when you find yourself stuck?
Two of the most beneficial steps have proven to be:
1) Do what you can. Remain open to the possibilities, re-evaluate your plans and see if you can make improvements or adjustments.
2) At the same time, be willing to detach from the exact timing of the outcome. This is not easy, but it can open up many doors for you!
When you let go of trying to force something into being, you automatically decrease the pressure that deadlines place upon you. Because you feel more relaxed, you are better able to focus and awaken your creative thinking process. Through this creative insight, you may accidentally discover the perfect solution to your problem, or at least have more fun exploring possible workarounds.
In the end, the length of time needed to achieve your goals is not nearly as important as the delicious satisfaction you get from seeing them through to the end.
And when that day arrives, you’ll believe only one thing: it was well worth the wait.

A lot of people already know that snoring isn’t a normal condition during sleep. But there are still more individual who think that snoring is just another funny problem that anyone can make jokes about at any given time. First, if you’re overweight, you need to lose extra pounds as soon as possible. Overweight people are more prone to snoring and it’s because the extra fats that causes this problem to occur. To be specific, fats existing within the neck cause snoring because it hinders the air from passing through it properly.
Another suspect for snoring is alcohol and anything with sedatives. The reason is simple. Sedatives and alcohol suppresses proper breathing pattern of the person. Try to ask your roommate or partner if you tend to snore after having alcohol. If you do, slow down on this to prevent the problem.

It’s a good natural way of loosening mucus which causes congestion and it wouldn’t even cause you a nickel. Just make sure you do this diligently and regularly for better results.

Why You Should Consider Using An NLP Coach
Author: admin
So the concepts behind NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) sound interesting to you and you’re wondering where to get started with implementing such strategies. You will probably face the question as to whether it might be beneficial to your life and business to hire an NLP coach. Each year there are thousands of people who benefit from scientifically based coaching programs, and a coach can help you design a specific plan of action using proven techniques. Sure you might be able to pull together a plan on your own, but this article will share how a coach might have the expertise and experience to help you shape your future and live life more fully, and right now.
Coaching has become a widely popular service and is familiar both to big business through corporate coaches and to television audiences through the popular show “Starting Over”. Coaches who utilize NLP concepts believe every person has the potential and ability to realize their dreams. An NLP coach can help you understand what you want from your life and what you will do to get it. A coach can help you clarify your goals and remain focused until you achieve them. While you build your confidence, improve your skills and achieve your goals a coach can guide, encourage and instruct using proven neuro-linguistic practices.
An NLP coach isn’t going to do the work for you, but will help you design a plan to achieve your own success. As you already can guess, a professional coach is likely to have an arsenal of proven techniques, tested and perfected through their own practice. Aside from that, a coach is going to have the advantage of being a neutral third party who has no emotional attachment to your past failures or successes. The observations of a coach are more likely to be clear, and the insights could possibly be more accurate, because they are in a position to view your behaviors more objectively than you, a friend or a member of your family could ever do. A coach is also more likely to be up on the latest techniques and advancements in NLP practices. All of these advantages can be combined to help you fully realize your potential, achieve higher levels of personal effectiveness and self mastery.
Since the premise behind NLP technique is that you can recreate success by doing what the successful people do, why not consider following what thousands of other successful people have done and get the outside assistance of a trained and professional NLP coach?

The Word Can’t Does Not Exist In My Vocab
Author: admin
I remember when I was growing up, my parents used to become vey annoyed with me when I stated that I could not do my homework or could not do other things I had been asked to do.
They would respond with the advice that I could do anything in life as long as I believed in myself and as long as I was willing to work very hard. The word, can’t, does not exist in my vocab Steve, I sometimes find certain tasks difficult however always believe that I will be able to succeed, my father would say.
He worked very hard to make me understand and to take on board this message, which would eventually prove to be a valuable lesson for me to learn. It has helped me to achieve many things and to also overcome some of the issues I had in my life.
School and employment
I was not the brightest student at school and as previously mentioned would often say that I could not complete the work through my lack of belief in my own ability. Through hard work and determination though, I left school with an impressive set of examination results. I continued this success into my work life and at the age of twenty-two had passed a number of insurance exams and had become a qualified financial advisor.
Stuttering
From the age of four I had suffered with the speech impediment known as stammering or stuttering. By my early twenties I had had enough of this struggle and went about trying to overcome the stutter. It proved to be very difficult and my progress was slow. I had superb support from my family who would always pick me up when I was feeling down and who also continued to ram home the message of never giving up. During the hours of practice I would regularly state that I could not do it, my family would not accept this and kept on at me to keep believing and to think positive.
After nearly a year of working and practicing very hard I managed to eradicate the stutter which is my biggest and proudest achievement in life.
Weight
Throughout my life I have had problems with my weight. I was never happy being fat and at the age of twenty decided to try to lose the weight. It seemed to take forever to achieve the weight and size I had targeted and as usual there were many times when I was close to giving up. From the lessons learnt and with the support from my family, eventually I did lose the excess fat.

Time Management Tips For A Successful Life
Author: admin
The application of time management skills has tended, in the past, to be thought of as something that is for business life only. In reality, though, time management is something from which we can all benefit in our personal lives as well, and in the art of marrying our working lives with our home and social lives.
Those benefits show in a number of ways, including health, well being and satisfaction with our lives overall. Manage your time well, and you can feel in control of your life, rather than letting events control you. There is no single “method” of time management, either in business or personal life. However, there are various time management tips and techniques, practices and theories, which it is worth knowing about.
Acquiring time management skills is something we can set about doing in a methodical way. Really, we all practice time management whether we know it or not. It is more a matter of whether we do it well or badly. The following tips are for improving time management skills, building on those that you will naturally have. Even primitive man used time management, it was just a lot simpler in those days. Time had to be allocated for hunting, and that time had to be used to the fullest effect possible to survive.
Here are just a few time management tips:
1. Before learning any techniques to help you manage your time, have a clear idea of what you are setting out to achieve. Give yourself the opportunity to get your life in some sort of order so that you can both enjoy it to the full and succeed to the full. If you just apply time management to areas of your life that do not really matter to you, then you will not be progressing at a personal level.
2. Get your priorities clear in your mind, so that they are a natural part of you. This will need to become a habit to be very effective, and you will need to apply prioritizing over a number of time spans. Your long term success will probably depend on your being able to prioritize what you need to do to achieve that success. However, to use your time well on a particular day, you need to start the day with a clear idea of your priorities. that also applies to the week, the month and the year. Your priorities for the shorter period must always feed positively into the priorities in the next longer period, and so on, so that each time period is mapped out with priorities that lead to your ultimate success.
3. When assessing priorities, be ruthless with parts of your life that are not contributing to your longer term goals. Removing the areas of your life where you are wasting time, will free up more time for you to apply to reaching your goals.
4. Always be sure to build your health and enjoyment into any plans. Time for relaxation and exercise are critical to your long term achievements; always make time for proper meals, and keep to a healthy but enjoyable diet. Time management is not an exercise in being macho with your business life; it is an opportunity to build a balanced life for yourself and your family.
5. Once you have set your priorities for any period, write them down and refer to them from time to time, updating them if necessary. Should you appear to be failing, examine why, and reset and reinforce your goals and priorities. It is too easy to slip back into bad habits that inhibit your progress.
6. Be sure to keep a diary and use it to plan out each day, week, month. There are all sorts of electronic gizmos, online planners, software etc to act as aids to your time management. Personally, I think a good old fashioned diary is just as good, if not better. About 18 months ago I reverted to using a traditional diary to plan my working time. That forces me to get away from the computer, even for a few minutes, and think what my priorities are, and what I need to be reminded about.
If you can become better at time management, you will find your life more satisfying and less stressful, as well as being able to achieve greater things. For millions of people, life just sweeps them along in a torrent of activity, or inactivity, over which they have little or no control. That can be very stressful, unhealthy, inefficient, and demoralising over the long term. There is nothing quite like controlling your own destiny to reduce stress and aid success.

I Am A Habit
Author: admin
H-A-B-I-T…When 95% of people hear this word, a negative thought pops up
in their minds. Typically, most people think of a habit being negative.
The secret to your future lies in your daily habits so ask yourself
right now, “Are my habits today going to help me achieve my WHY in life?” This is a life-empowering question if you truly ask it and listen for the answer.
I received the following excerpt from a very dear friend of mine and
felt that it is definitely the best explanation of a habit that I have
ever heard:
I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me,
and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few
lessons I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great men.
And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine.
Plus, the intelligence of a man.
You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me and I will put the world at your feet.
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?
I am a HABIT!
One of my daily habits that is the foundation of my life is
spending 45-60 minutes each and every morning feeding my body physically
by exercising and feeding my mental spirit by reading or listening to a motivational message. This habit warms me up for the day ahead.
Everyone washes their physical body and feeds their body every morning,
but 95% of people will find an excuse about why they can not find the “TIME”
to invest in a habit of feeding their MINDS! This parallels the statistic that 95% of people are dead or dead broke by the age 65. I consider this particular
daily habit of mine to be the driving force behind my ability to consistently maintain my intense focus on the journey of success and living a dream life.
Is it easy all the time? Of course not, but when it becomes a habit &ndash
you will do it! If you commit today to begin each morning warming
yourself up for the day ahead by feeding your mental spirit, your entire
life will change in a positive fashion very quickly. It is like
driving a race car with the emergency brake on and you try to go ahead,
but you can’t move. You stay in the same location with your wheels spinning,
burning up, making a lot of noise, but not going anywhere! All it takes is
to release the brake and you will fly towards toward your WHY in life!!
You need to review what your habits are and ask yourself…“Would I recommend
MY habits to someone I truly love and care about?” Your entire future lies
in your daily habits&ndashpositive or negative. You have the most powerful force
right now in your hands, the ability to decide what your habits will begin to be.

How To Overcome Shyness
Author: admin
This article looks into ways to help people break free from shyness. The advice is based from personal experience and I hope it will provide inspiration to many people.
As a child and well into my teenage years, I was a person who was often referred to as being very shy. Even though this description was true, I always longed to be as confident and outgoing as everybody else. The problem was that I did not know how to gain this self-esteem and found socialising very difficult.
There were many reasons as to why I was a shy person. My family by nature for whatever reason are seemingly always worrying about something or other. We all spiral in and out of depression and basically have a negative outlook on life.
I also grew up having to cope with a stuttering problem which as you can imagine did not help my own confidence levels and only added to what was already the difficult task of mixing with other people. I did eventually manage to achieve fluency but only after suffering with the speech impediment for eighteen years.
I have to say that I always preferred to be by myself and was what many people saw as a loner. When I am on my own nobody can hurt me and I was also in no danger of stuttering. The weird aspect was that inside I was a very confident person who was desperate to show the world, the real Steve Hill.
Being shy made it difficult for me to form relationships with women and made my work life also more of a choir.
At the age of around twenty-one I decided to attempt to overcome my shyness once and for all. I had to understand the real reasons behind why I was shy and to deal with each one in turn. I asked myself many questions such as:
Why are you scared of people? This was because I had a fear of not being accepted or liked. They may hurt me by being aggressive towards me or by taunting me about my speech etc. This was me being paranoid, so I decided that if I don’t try, I won’t know.
Why are you afraid of socialising? This was because I did not feel that I had a lot to say and believed people would think I was boring. I decided just to try my best and to see what happens.
Why won’t you approach a member of the opposite sex? This was because I thought that they would only tell me to go away and that they would not be interested in me. Yet again, if I do not try, how will I know.
These are just three of many questions I asked myself and you can probably see a pattern forming. I was just somebody who was scared to try, a fear of failure in a way. It was also a fear of being rejected and disliked.
I have now come to realise that out of ten people I meet, three of four of them might not like me, but that means there are six who will. Life is to short to be constantly paranoid and stressed. I have to battle against my shyness and break free of it once and for all.
I now have more confidence than I ever have had. I still have periods where I become shy but these are becoming less and less as time goes by.
In conclusion, if you are not happy being shy, work hard to deal with and to understand what is making you this way. I am sure that you can live a much more relaxed life in the same way that I have done.

How to Deal With Difficult People
Author: admin
In business, like the rest of life we will often encounter people who are just that little more difficult to get along with. Some use the term ‘personality conflict’ to describe the situation, yet this suggests that there is some sort of unbreakable barrier and that the problem is somewhat unfixable, since it is highly unlikely somebody is going to change their entire personality for the sake of better work relations! A far more rational solution is to change specific behaviours, rather than personality traits.
Situations with difficult employees tend to occur over time; after all it is not very common to hire someone and find them impossible to deal with after the first week. Usually it is small irritating personal habits that progress over time into larger annoying behaviours after being left unattended. In any relationship, both people influence the other’s behaviour. In almost every conflict situation, both parties bear some responsibility for the way things end up.
Focusing on blame will produce no results and only irritate you further. The most proactive thing you can do in these situations is focus on what YOU can do to make things better. It doesn’t matter who is at fault, if your primary concern is to rectify the situation. Try to consider your contribution in this unpleasant situation; perhaps you have just written them off as a lost cause, their own worst enemy? Now try to consider ways in which you can change this; maybe by getting more involved with them personally, making an effort to become friends.
A good idea is to approach the situation in a non- accusatory tone, preferably when you are both calm and in a private situation. Address the problems you are experiencing, once you have finished let them have their say and be sure to listen intently so they know you are truly concerned and interested. When possible find things to agree on, and offer something in return.
If you are clearly frustrated it will show. It is important that you deal with things firmly, but nicely and without dramatics. To remain the bigger person you should retain quiet dignity, even if the other person becomes rude or nasty. No-one is suggesting you smile and turn the other cheek in the face of abuse, but if you counter-attack or react in kind, you will almost always make the situation worse.
Avoid gossip of any kind as you will start to involve other members of staff. As well as being disruptive to the organization, it will make it more difficult to fix the situation. Gossip only focuses on the worst part of a person and paints them in a very negative light. Along with being unfair, it affects your thinking and actually shortens your patience, especially when you get covert support from others.
Like every situation, prevention is better than cure, by using a combination of politeness and limit setting these situations can be completely avoided. However, sometimes the conflict becomes so polarized that you will have to go to outside sources to seek help. If the person in question is a fellow staff member, one possibility is to approach your team leader and explain the situation. Do your best not to convince your boss how ‘bad’ the other person is, it will just make you look like the problem.
At the end of the day there is generally a solution to every problem. If the situation persists and you and the person in question continue not to see eye to eye, then perhaps mediation or some other form of intervention may be necessary. In any case you must remember that there are two sides to every story, maybe you aren’t being as reasonable as you originally thought? Be open to others suggestions and opinions, and be aware of your rights and responsibilities in a conflict situation, as well as theirs.

Prevent Credit Problems

Prevent Credit Problems from the Guide to Good Credit
Credit problems usually result from a lack of communication between the consumer and the creditor. The consumer is not always responsible for credit problems which occur. Losses which occur due to mail, delayed payments and clerical/computer errors are the most common credit problems blamed on the creditor. Some of the prevalent reasons consumers develop credit problems are: unreported changes of address, underpayment, missed payments, and the most common of over extension of credit.
Keep addresses current with every creditor. If you are planning a move, notify your creditors beforehand. You can pick up, free of chrge, change of address cards from the post office.
If problems arise that make it impossible to make the full monthly payment, FIRST, contact your creditor, in person, by phone ,e-mail or written communications and explain the entire situation. Don’t put it off until tomorrow, do it TODAY! Pay as much as possible on the account and if at all possible bring the account up to date the next month. Most creditors are willing to work with you and retain you as a customer in good standing if you advise them of the circumstances. Avoiding your creditors will cause distrust and result in unfavorable information on your credit report.
Always safeguard your cards by recording account numbers, names, addresses and phone numbers of the creditors on all credit accounts. Be sure to keep this list separate from your credit cards and always report “immediately” any loss, theft or possible misuse (within 24 hours). This will reduce the possibility of fraudulent use of your credit cards and any personal liability. The services of a credit card protection service are recommended. They will report to your creditors “immediately” the loss or theft of all your credit cards upon one single call from you. Difficulties arising from fraudulent use of stolen credit cards account for about 25% of all credit problems. Check any Bank you do business with, most offers this service.
By preventing credit problems and using your credit wisely you can actually save money. By having good credit you will benefit from lower interest rates and you can take advantage of sales and avoid future price increases.
